Sarangesa motozi – the forest elfin

Spread the love

My last attempt at finding Sarangesa motozi turned out to be Abantis pillaana (ragged skipper) . This is Sarangesa motozi (forest elfin) due to the prominent translucent discoid spot on the hind wing. This butterfly belongs to the family Hesperiidae, the family known as skippers which are named for their quick, darting flight habits.
